1. type Google.com
2. Search your question on the search bar.
3. Try and educate yourself with the results

OR

1. Use the search function DP has.
2. Find relevant threads to your query (as this question has been bloody asked a lot of times already)
3. Gather the information from posts in which you think would be helpful.

There are many tutorials for SEO. Just browse & read it. You can join forums also. It also helps to get more updated knowledge about SEO

I am suggesting you the SEO steps that are:-
1)The first activity is keyword research for each individual web page.
2)The second step is On-page optimization phase that includes keywords into title,meta keywords and content body.
3)The third step is off-page optimization that includes link building,Article submission,press release,forum post,blog commenting etc.
4)When it comes to SEO,Always remember content is the king.Google loves pages with fresh and new content.

 

One step by step manual I really like is called "The Noob Guide to Online Marketing".

 

There are lot of internet marketing related blogs to read. Matt Cutts, Google's official blog are the best to get complete information about the search engine.

It's great that there are so many free guides, but what motivated me to write my own was the fact that I wasn't really able to find anything that had a strong focus on practice. Sure, the SEOmoz guide is great too, but there just too much information that is not of use for someone starting with SEO.

 

Its kinda funny how a noob who has put his nick here on DP as "amithacseo" is asking such a basic question.

 

First of all you'll have to complete on page SEO which includes Title, keyword research, content, internal linking structures, HTML tags etc. Next Is off page SEO which includes link building. You'll find thousands of material on Google infact on this forum which can guide you on SEO.

 

Seo is common for any kind of site or blog- Nothing special about marketing, Only the contents, keywords, material would be relating to marketing in general and your products or service in particular. But seo would be the same.

 

I think I started with SEO Book. He made it very easy to understand for the first time.

 

I would rather say that: buy a book from amazon about the subject you want to learn
the more we learn the more beneficial it will be for us, so keep learning

SEO can't be explained in one or two sentences, so it is better to search on Google, read ebooks, and SEO tutorials. In short, I can tell you that it has types: on page SEO and off page SEO.

 

sometimes i think that the answer of seo techniques is just one: BACKLINK BUILDING. The more of friends (read: links) you have the more popular you are.

 

All these step are good and effective but these are so common steps known by every one.
