    As far as i know there is no limit when it comes to gathering links for adult sites, just make sure its related. So i suggest to gather as much as you can..

    There are plenty of forums that will let you post a link in your sig for providing free content (links to picture and video downloads) on their boards.

    I used to use thunder-ball. It was a free place to exchange links with other adult webmasters. Then, they made the service a paid service, so I stopped using it.

    I just went back to their website (thunder-ball.net) and was greeted by a message that they were bought by a company called 'everess'. (http://www.everess.net). I'm not sure if they moved it back to a free service or not after buying.

    After clicking the Register link on the new site, I'm not being asked to pay for anything yet, but that could change once you actually register. I'm not in the adult market anymore, so I'm not going to register. Give it a try though! Thunder-ball.net, when it was free, did amazing things for my link building/seo efforts.

    It's not illegal. Which country sends you to jail for using it?

    Also Google won't de-index or sandbox your page because you use tools, it will do so because of the amount of link spam some people produce with these tools in a short period of time.
    Theoretically if you build thousands of backlinks in a short period of time even by hand, Google would probably sandbox your site too!
