Getting decent results in SERPs but not many visitors? Any advice is appreciated

I don't know if I'm targeting the wrong keywords, or if I need more links or something else. I think my on-page is pretty good. I've tried everything I can think of. Had an SEOMoz account for 3 months but didn't really use it much.

Currently getting about 3600 visitors a month, and currently dropping by about 14% per month.

    • I bought placement in a lot of high PR link directories - €20 a placement and upwards kinda places - should I buy more? Open Site Explorer seems to rate these pretty high.
    • Someone mentioned hiring some low cost Indian SEOs for tons of links - a volume over quality approach. I always assumed this was a bad idea.
    • I've been getting single link from loads of different domains. Do you guys think I should buy advertising on some forums that'll give 25,000 links from the same domain to balance out the link strategy?
    • We aim towards International customers as well as Irish ones, but I think our domain maybe puts people off. I've bought some more International sounding domain names. I'm thinking of setting up a separate site using one of those - I'm a web designer so it's not gonna cost much. Any thoughts?
    • Should I just spend a few grand on advertising on a few different community sites? Does this work, or are there better value links?
    • Is article submission a complete waste of time? Seems like a wasteland. If not, is there any decent software to automate the process?
    • Comment "spam" - I've heard this actually works but it seems pretty sick. Has anyone had any success with it?
The site sells cannabis seeds, which are legal to possess in most European countries. Address is irish seed bank.com (without the spaces). Any help is very much appreciated.

If you want to get decent results in SERPs try to gain back links with anchor text for the keywords you want to get a decent result in SERPS

Yeah, that's what I've been doing. I'm not really getting results though. For the term 'cannabis seeds' for example I've got about 40 quality backlinks with at least PR1, plus more than 40 others. Is this too little in general?

You want the first place for "cannabis seeds"? Basically, build more links. Your top competitor has a few thousand more than you (pointed directly to it's home page - without even thinking about the total link popularity that domain enjoys).

And this is just a pure number, I haven't checked for their actual strength.

Although, with a few grands in your pocket, this is a no brainer. Just please don't ask me what exactly I would do, I really don't have time to give out free lessons. Good luck.

you have to reevaluate what you been doing wrong and right i guess.

may be the keywords you are targeting mainly doesnt have much clicks.
keep in mind, long tail keywords could help you big time.

Seems like the keywords you're targeting have some high competition. Chances are you'll need to build many more backlinks from relevant sites to compete with the already established domains.

Ya, the best thing to do would be to do an competitive analysis to see what your competitors are doing better than you - in terms of driving traffic through keywords. Also, are you optimizing for short and long tail keywords? You keyword may be to blame for low traffic.

If you're getting decent ranking, but not much traffic try and change your meta descriptions. This is what people see in the search engines just below the title of your page. Make it more catchy and enticing. Maybe consider some PPC campaigns?

Remember that the number 1 slot gets about 40% of traffic from a search, often much more. So if you're on the front page, but not at the top, you still won't be pulling in huge traffic. Have you checked Google Keyword Tool for just how much search traffic each of your phrases get?

It looks you wasted a lot of money (20 euros on Dir Listin per each that's a total waste)

I'm a SEO Freelancer since 2004 You can drop me a pm with url/age of site/targeted keyphrases

My advice Build hundred of links for each of your targeted keyphrases
