Coding a web design PSD?

Discussion in 'HTML & Website Design' started by jcMarkus, Mar 4, 2011.

How do I go about coding a website design I just created in PhotoShop? Right now it's a PSD file so how do I turn it into a website now?

No, I don't have Adobe Fireworks, so I can't use that.

I think making it in Photoshop is just to make a layout, I'm not sure if you can make it into a website straight from that

You can make psd in photoshop for website design. Because through psd file you can analise your website design. like withe, height, banner and header etc....

Next you need to code that PSD design so may be its a good time you start learning HTML & CSS. Either pick a book or begin at http://w3schools.com/ tutorials.

Here is a site that helped me a lot. The method that it teaches is not the proper way to do it since it uses tables for the structure, but it will definitely help you rationalize how the coding of a PSD works.

First of all, do you know HTML and CSS... If not go to w3schools.com and learn them. After you are done with learning HTML and CSS you need to slice you template in photoshop and start coding them using dreamweaver...

Please don't use tables to build your websites. As other have said here, go to w3schools.com and learn.

You can use services that will do it for you. However, it will cost you money AND you don't learn that way. So you'll end up being in the same boat again on our next project. w3schools is a good starting point to learn how to code your web page.
