(chuckles) Its disgraceful when you think about it. I thought it said 600 a week when I first read it.
Is $600 with NO taxes really unrealistic? Think about this, here in the US there are 30 Million people on Minimum wage working 40 Hours per week which equals $244.90 or about $980 per month. After 35% in state and Federal taxes they are bringing home just over $600 per month working jobs they hate. Not to mention they have to have transportation to and from work. So why $600 is not great, its not bad either. I would rather sit at home doing what I love as to going out and flipping burgers at Mcdonalds and making the same amount of money.
So what your asking is for someone to work for next to nothing (even before tax) and for them to break the law by not declaring the income .. wow what a great oppertunity your giving people on here I chage around $45 / hour as a web developer. $2 / hour is an absolute disgrace .. Im sure youll get what your pay for
webdevuk - your reply is just as skewed as the salary offered. You're in the UK with high living costs. These guys want someone living in India, Malaysia, etc. $600 is more than most people earn in those countries. And, $45 a hour is expensive even in the UK. However, I agree that $2.79 per hour (5*10*4.3 weeks in a month divided by $600) is very low, and you get what you pay for. Savvy web developers can get much more from this and other forums. And, then there's the long term aspect to this too. Rather than having to continually deal with buyers, there would be just one company providing income consistently. For some developer living in Mumbai, that's pretty good. What I'm much more concerned about with this post is the requirement to work for 10 hours per day. Come on guys! You don't really want to be cyber gangmasters do you?
It doesn't matter how you justify $3/hr, it's plain wrong. All foreign programmers who advertise $3/hr, do not really charge that, they end up over quoting, and taking advantage of people like the poster who want to pay next to nothing for coding, so they tell them what they want to hear. All in all this is a good gig for a 12-14 year old kid who can't legally work.
