    Hello all DP members,

I have been thinking about this for many days/weeks.
Is traffic exchange good or bad for your site?
a big plus is that u get traffic
    but aren't there any minuses?
If this would have just good benefits why isn't everyone doing it?
    What's google's, bing's, yahoo's and alexa's opinion about this?

Please write your own opinion about this and please try to answer at least one of my questions.

    Kind Regards,
    Egils

    Hi Haggler999,

    Ok.
But could you please base your opinion on facts, arguments?
Because if there are no facts, arguments it's like saying this movie is the worst movie ever but why is it the worst movie ever?
I hope you understood what I meant.

    Kind Regards,
    Egils

I wouldn't use traffic exchanges if you're trying to make money - they just don't work.

    Hi ForgottenCreature,

Well ok but what about the stats? Imo it's important to have good stats for a site isn't?
It's not for a products landing page or something like that it's for a big project.
So if that traffic isn't supposed to buy anything but just for improving ranks for traffic and with that the value of the site.
    Would you use traffic exchange?

    Kind Reagrds,
    Egils

Just don't do it. Most ad exchanges don't allow it, and will ban your account.
It doesn't help with SEO rankings

Google is really cracking down on any type of trade or purchasing of links/traffic.

I would suggest trying for yourself, you might have some success in improving the stats of your website, despite what everyone else seems to think.

Traffic exchange in no way will help you to get organic traffic. Its just because you sent somebody to paul and paul sends you somebody in return.Google considers it as a bad search engine optimization practice if your are exchanging links for traffic exchange.( I am talking about 2 way backlinks).

It really depends what you use it for. It has already been said that many ad networks look down upon this. However, it can be a useful tool to drive traffic to your site in the beginning stages of marketing. The more people that see your site and recognize the name, the more people that might come back. It's not really a long term solution but it can help in the beginning.

Wow, so many negative people around here....

Traffic Exchanges... The good and the Bad...

    Ice,

Traffic exchanges will not help you boost your ranking, they won't earn you any props from many marketers and unless you upgrade are time consuming. However, TE's are great for building brand awareness, self promotion as well as list building.

The entire marketing plan for traffic exchanges is to build your reputation, build your list and build the awareness of yourself and product. They are not meant to spam affiliate links, promote MLM and anything else for that matter.

From my own testing, I have found that Traffic Exchanges are most effective when using a quick loading capture page, building your list, and promoting your face and brand. If your looking at testing out a sales funnel for a free opt-in or something of that nature, then I fully suggest going to a traffic exchange. Not only will you be able to test your opt in conversion but your sales funnel and email marketing conversions as well!

If all you want to do is use it to try to build a higher ranking or sell a product outright. Then I strongly suggest not using them. It would be a waste of time and money(if you choose to buy credits/upgrade).

For those of you that think TE's are bad. It's all in how you use them, the right way or the wrong way. The right- capture page, the wrong - selling a product.

    Dedicated to your success,

    Matthew Roe

Do you have any reasoning/experience behind this? I find that they can be very useful.

Traffic exchange sites are supposed to help you get customers to your site, and possibly make a sale or two. However, that's the same thing that everyone else is trying to do, and most times you can work yourself to death and only bring in a couple of people who only stop long enough to find out that you're promoting the exact same thing they are. It becomes a vicious cycle of who can get the most people to the same site.
