Sudden Drop in PR

Discussion in 'Google' started by ganz_syshacks, Mar 5, 2011.

Today when I checked my blog's PR. It was down to PR 0 from PR 2. Then I checked couple of famous blogs. Even those PR's were down to PR 0. Now I just want to know whether it is a bug or something is certainly wrong with mine (1st link of the siggy) & those sites ?

Could have something to do with the algorithm change.

I wouldn't doubt if this has something to do with the sudden Google Algorithm changes.

All of the autoblogs are going down because of the latest algorithm of google. Did you have an autoblog ? Did you make any backlink plan for your blog?

I dont see a drop in PR but then again I dont run any autoblogs, but I do see a massive drop in traffic and possibly SERP changes. Could this be a google dance ?

Yes the last update of algorithms gives a massive change with a lot of site. One of my site on tourism has fallen down from 2 to 4. But I've a reason behind fallen cause I've not updated my site for a long time. What about you? Do you update your site regularly?

I would not worry about a drop in PR. Rather a drop in traffic worries me.

@All Check out my Blog (DailyBlogging). It's not an AutoBlog & I'm not facing any effect due to the Recent farmer algo. All my keywords are ranking well. And more importantly there is no traffic drop. Now that's what worries me. No side-effects on traffic but still a PR Drop.

You should wait 1-2 days and see if the pr comes back.

PR does not really worry me its the quality traffic that i am interested in more,if i was to see a drop in my traffic i would be concerned, its the amount of visitors to a site that makes most of the the revenue albeit you can charge more money for links to a higher PR site and also you can charge a higher price when a selling a sites that have a higher PR status.

I wouldn't say that. Couple of my autoblogs jumped from PR0 to PR4 & PR2 and are still there (less than a year old domains)
off the record, 'assuming this & assuming that & hit to clickbank' is the mother of SEO "gurus" these days... :)

When I had pr 4 for my site, I was earning $30/day. Now, my site pr dropped to 2 but I get $200/day. Which do you prefer?

@eleSlash Ya even I'm Optimistic that the PR comes back. The reason being, this drop is seen even across popular blogs.

@Mega B I disagree with you partly. Yes Quality traffic is important. PR plays a big part in attracting Advertisers.
