    They already own Orkut, why they would open another one. It would be better that work or add same features (that has been planed for new SN) in Orkut.

    I have heard about their plans of releasing a new concept 'Google Me' (Something related to connecting the people who hold the same name). Think they have dropped the idea, think google's strategies are not working as well as before.. FB is ruling the social medias..FB ads gaining popularity,, Seems G will gradually loose their monopoly.

    I havent heard so much about this from Google's side in quite a while, definetely not a NEW social site, but maybe it has something to do with upgrading the projects they are currently using?

    But I heard rumours that FB will compete in the SE-game against google..

    i also heard this some where i dont remember it said it is going to be so big that its would be better than facebook i was like OK but i dont know why there is no new news about this project i think google has dropped it

    Well, if this is true why build the new one? Why don't BUY facebook as google did with another competitors lately. :)

    actually Google has bought a Flicker and another social networking site for his purpose. he also bought one twitter type site... Google is being prepaid for the social war against Facebook and others.
