Every body loves FREE stuff. But FREE stuff is not always the BEST. Nevertheless, I have a list of 2700+ directories which accept FREE listings.

I have personally not checked each site so dont mind if you encounter a 404 page.

How much income after submitting the directories?

 

If you check the latest pagerank and algorithm update of google, you will notice that lot of sites and blogs have lost their pages in google or lost the pagerank because of too much submissions. I would advice you to go for only high pagerank directories, say like PR4 and above. Because google might show up anytime on your site for a bad beat

 

Apart from the list ive provided, there are tons of other sites which provide directory lists. The point is, you need to build links slowly. You may want to contact webmasters of blogs and sites and ask them if they wish to link back to you in exchange of some good write ups / content. Thats the best way of building natural links.

If you are using this list, then make sure you do not submit your site to all 2700 in 2 days!

If your site is brand new, then make it 10 submissions per day
If you site is 6 months old then 15 - 20 submissions per day
If your site is 6 months to 1 year then 25 - 30 per day
1+ years, up to 40 per day.

Its always good if you have a solid strategy before getting on to the submission part.

most of them does not link bak to your site, as most of them charge something for submission, If you choose for free then they never accept you submission. I have tried more than 50 such directories and i have never received any such links.

 

No body can guarantee your acceptance in any directories. Even DMOZ.org!
But one has to take care of few things for faster approvals like:

1) Create an email address of the same domain name which you are promoting.

2) DO NOT use self promotional language, like "we are the best", "we are the top company", etc, as they normally get rejected.

3) Dont abuse a free directory by making 10 submissions in 2 days. There are high chances of your domain getting blacklisted by the directory.
