What is the most important way of link building ?

I think "Link-Exchange" is the best way to build quality backlinks. Links coming from a content rich and relevant web page are the useful links provided its a dofollow link.

 

IMHO mass directory submission in not so relevant these days.
I am submitting my sites to directories in my niche only.

Blog commenting also is not so useful now in terms of "link juice" because of "nofollow" attributes .

 

Article Submission is also a good option, as there are lots of article submission sites which provide do-follow link.
Press Release submission is another option.

 

From my site logs I have found that I get visitors from Facebook and Twitter...so I would say social networking sites are relevant as well.

 

Press releases can give you some of the best quality links if done right. But you want a combination of all ways of building back links to increase your chances of getting to the top of the search engines.

 

I would prefer to go with the social bookmarking first if you are at an early stage of your SEO. Social bookmarking obviously helps in a long run and should be started at an early stage of your site. Later on, like after a month or so, you can start with other stuff like article submission and directory submission, press releases etc... to get in more traffic to the site. To have quick eyeballs for your site, then facebook, some popular forums and blog commenting will be must. Because these are the sites where, there are frequent visitors and viewers on a daily basis. EVen google robots visit them everyday

It would seem that the general consensus is that variety is key, which makes sense if you look at it from Google's stand point whereby it likes to see a natural kind of increase of popularity (back links) for a website, and then it will rank it well.

 

I agree. Very easy to understand, because the link will be on the page that will or already be indexed. Get your backlink indexed is most important step in link building.

 

yes , i also use the ways what you all said , and i think the best way is article submitting , of course , you need have a great ability of writing articles , so many people will share your articles online .

 

i m sure the blog commenting is the fastest way to create backlinks ...do ...that you will find the result

First and foremost, any link you can get on a relevant site is worth getting. It doesn't matter if it's a blog, a forum or on an article. If it' not a relevant site, I would say look for sites with either high PR or sites with a lot of backlinks and user participation. If you are looking for quick links, post links in blog comments and forum comments with keyword-rich anchor text.
