This is a 48 hour auction.

    APlusAV.com

APlusAV.com (A Plus Audio Visual) is a USA Amazon affiliate site that has been up since July of 2005, but has not been promoted for almost a year. I find that I do not have the time to build traffic and promote many of my sites due to the workload with other projects and priorities. The site has good potential for someone who wishes to promote it with AdWords or Yahoo advertising. Many items sell for at least several hundred dollars—and the biggest buying season of the year is just about to begin!

The site is built on the most current version of the Freekrai Amazon Store Manager 2 script, but it has been heavily modified and greatly improved over the original. There are no licensing issues with the script.

    Features:

    * Great Domain Name!
    * Set up for products from Amazon USA. It is possible to customize the script for other Amazon locations, but I have never done this.
    * A custom script was added that can be run manually or via cron job that pulls in a list of Amazon’s Top Sellers. Those are the products that randomly display on the home page. The data is written to a text file and an e-mail is sent with a list of the current Top Sellers. The e-mail verifies that the script ran properly. Sample E-mail . The site is currently set up to pull in Top Sellers (top 10 best sellers) for three browse nodes, DVD Recorders, Home Theater Systems and TVs/HDTVs. This is easy to change.
    * Client-side code has been modified so that site is not similar to other Amazon affiliate sites built with the original Freekrai script.
    * Does not require a database.
    * Icons display on browse and search results pages to indicate Amazon product group category.
    * Menu selections can be set up using either a browse node or a keyword search. Keyword search menu selections typically produce a very unique set of results.
    * Unique content can be easily added to first pages in most category browses.
    * Search box is set to search for all related Amazon products.
    * Site can be used to push both Amazon products and AdSense.
    * Pretty much a maintenance-free script.
    * Very indexable script.
    * Script has several other customizable features that I will explain to the buyer.

The script uses PHP and REST (REST is used by 80% of Amazon’s affiliates) to pull live data from Amazon’s affiliate server. It does not use a database. If you are a PHP programmer, this is one of the easiest Amazon scripts to modify.

Domain name registered at GoDaddy until 6/22/2010 – Yes, I registered it for an excessive period of time. My mistake is the buyer’s gain. Free push to a GoDaddy account

APlusAV.com needs some promotional attention to make it successful

    Google PageRank = 3
    6,230 pages in Google
    0 backlinks showing in Google

    101 pages in MSN
    5 backlinks in MSN

    12,950 pages in Yahoo
    119 backlinks in Yahoo

This site was recently submitted to about 50 directories, so PageRank should continue to build.

    Starting Price: $100

    No Reserve Price

    BIN: to be determined

    Auction Duration: 48 hours

    Traffic Stats:

Averaging about 15,000 visits per month without any promotion, and could hit 25,000 this month. It looks like there is a lot of spider activity.

Here is the Webalizer data for the past several months.

    Overview

    Revenue:

Revenue is uncertain. I have several Amazon stores and I have sold some home theater products. For most of this year, the commissions are mixed with other sites, so I cannot tell for certain which sales came from this site.

I wasn’t tracking individual site sales for most of my Amazon sites until late August. In September, the site sold 9 items. 8 shipped for a total commission or $10.50. 5 items have thus far been ordered in October. I don’t know if any were big ticket items in October. You do see a nice boost when someone orders a big screen TV. Most orders are for accessory items.

There was $8.09 in AdSense revenue for September and $3.22 in AdSense revenue thus far this month. This is with no promotion at all. All current traffic is natural.

The site really needs promotion to focus traffic on the big screen TVs and home theater setups. A lot of people are still not aware that Amazon sells these products.

    Requires:

Unix or Linux server running Apache and PHP 4.2 or newer. Your server needs to be able to make external calls to the Amazon server. Most servers do allow this, but some of the free and bargain hosting arrangements do not. You may have problems at hosting companies like DreamHost that restrict services and do not allow overrides in the .htaccess file. Your hosting company must allow you to use the .htaccess file. Instructions for the setup are included. It is pretty simple. If you are a complete newbie with Amazon, I can provide assistance to get you going.

You will need an Amazon Associates ID and an Amazon Subscription ID or AWS Access Key. The Associates ID is used for tracking sales. The Subscription ID or AWS Access Key is a developer ID that allows you to access Amazon’s servers.

    Terms:

    Payment by PayPal

Free domain name push to a GoDaddy account.

The image on the home page is a royalty free image from iStockPhoto.com. You must either license the image or remove it. The licensing cost is $1 to $2. If you wish to license the image, the iStockPhoto.com image file name is included with the setup instructions.

This site is being sold as-is with no guarantees for traffic, revenue, rank positions, future PageRank, etc. I will be glad to answer any questions and help the buyer get it set up.

I haven't analyzed the traffic. Check out the Webalizer reports.

    Overview

A lot of it is spider activity, which is good. Yahoo added about 4000 pages since the beginning of September.

Google must still be updating their data centers. The site was a PR1, but hit PR3 during the last update. A few data centers still show PR1.

    Check this out.
    http://livepr.raketforskning.com/?u=www.aplusav.com

Most of the sites that I check are currently showing a mix of old and new PRs. It's a Google thing.

The current high bid is $120. :D

Why would you not take 2 seconds to look where the traffic is coming from unless you have some reason not to show it?

About one hour to go. High bid is still $120.

I've received several requests for copies of this site. I want to make it clear that I am selling an established web site with a domain name and have not sold nor do I intend to sell any copies of this Home Theater store. If you buy the site, you can do whatever you want with it, but it is in the best interest of the owner to keep the site unique.
