Is a porn website legal?

Just wondering. Is it legal in Los Angeles California to create a porn website?

Something like I create a corporation and have a little website showing home made videos that i have created? And also advertise for new talent and pay people for trying out and being part of my business. Is this legal? Please send me a link that shows all the legal issues regarding this.

 

Yes, as a concept it's fine. There was a recent case concerning porn and California (although not strictly related to it's legality).

Your primary concern should be how to prevent minors from viewing the material - if not for moral reasons but also for legal ones too. This was a recent attempt to push online age verification onto the lawbook which failed I think but you should research to see if there are any other laws or potential ones in the pipeline.

yeah, it's legal. Lots of porn is made in California, actually.

Don't see why it would be a problem. But like Steve said, an age verification system might be required.

As long as the material is 18 and over years old.

It is legal if you do comply with local laws. It is under your absolute responsibility to display the content only to people above
18 years old and material must be done by people above 18 years old as well.
