You're bounce rate is way way wayyyy too high.....it should usually be below 50.....so if you could get it down to 30 or 40 that would be good.
Try better content or layout? If your website is hard to navigate or slow, your bounce rate will go up because people are impatient.

 

It depends, his bounce rate may not be that high if it's just a 1 page pitch site. If it's an information site where you want others to look at additional pages, then yea, it's really bad.

 

Personally if mine goes above 50% I get concerned. But as mentioned above it really does depend on the nature of your site

 

It also depends where the traffic is coming from and why, if it's just to look at 1 page story or something then bounce rate is expected to be high.

 

Good point, there's lots of factors to take into account, but generally i'd say that a high bounce rate can show lack of interest in your site as a whole, which tends to be a negative thing.

IMHO.. Bounce rates only good for a one page sales letter where visitor bounced to to checkout page somewhere else ..
