    1 is the most important, 5 is the less important.

    5. Write in forums

    1. Submit site to search engines <- forget this... waste of time, the main SE -s will find you if you have an inbound link.

    The suggested order:
    1. Submit to high PR and relevant directories
    2. Submit to Social Networks
    3. Write in forums

    Meanwhile you have to do:
    4. Write Articles/blogs

    5. Other ways to get backlinks:
    - soc bookmargin
    - article submissions
    - link partners (maybe a few link exchanges)
    - marketing / PPC campaign to get some traffic

    I don't agree with submitting to site engines first (especially google) To improve your SEO google likes to see that your site is popular - the way to do this is to get people linking to your site first (backlinks) once this is done submit your site to search engines.
