At the end you'll be writing some code, so doesn't matter you work with Dreamweaver or Notepad++.

Chris Coyier is good at explaining things. Here is his screencast on the subject: http://css-tricks.com/video-screencasts/71-building-a-website-photoshop-mockup/
He also wrote a book about wordpress: http://digwp.com/

As radiant_luv said, it doesnt matter what coding program you use, so these tutorials work for dreamweaver aswell.
You can also try google if you are looking for more info.

When I first started out editing wordpress themes, I found it hard for sure but over time I learned to deal with php. One thing that helped me was Theme Dreamer (google it) but I am not sure if it is needed now days or not. It makes it slightly easier to edit wp themes in DW

I've read that Dreamweaver CS5 actually works with WordPress, though an upgrade costs. http://www.wpbeginner.com/news/wordpress-themes-made-easy-with-adobe-dreamweaver-cs5/ I'm struggling with the same issue. I just decided to up my website presence and make my blog into a real site. I am finding the flash and web pages easier to deal with then word press. Wordpress though now also has a really cool feature where you can create a network of blogs either by subdomains or sub-directories. It took me all weekend to figure it out,but it is really cool. Like creating multiple blogs in blogger. Just FYI. Best to you. I also found stuff on www.webdesignerwall.com. Just keep in mind that, and I hope this is true, because the styles are done in style sheets, once you figure it out it should be easier. All you need to do then in the future is change the css to change the looks. Am I right I hope? I don't know php either.

An easy way to make nice wp templates is to use Artisteer. It's a bit expensive but very easy to use and the templates looks professional.

I've done some more homework and just FYI there is allot of talk of the new HTML5. I have CS4 and I am holding off upgrading because of that change. For example, flash may be replaced by a new program Adobe is working on specifially for HTML5, but the overall feel of the new program will be very simlilar to flash. The skills should be transferable. In addition, I have been reading wordpress for dummies and it has proven surprisingly helpful. It also explains how to use wordpress on your own hosted site in addition to wordpress without hosting.

Yeah. I ended up getting a book on dreamweaver and I am doing it on my own though I wish I had a better understanding of php because I might be able to make even more versatile designs.
