I've had plenty of .info domains rank on the first page, I don't believe the TLD has a effect on SERP's.

I think its well known that .info domains don't perform as well as other major TLDS, but it depends on the domain - for example a close match .info will perform better than a non keyword rich .com (depending on other factors like age, backlinks etc of course). I've never done an experiment so can't give you a scentific answer - others might be able to though.

I hate my .info's. The only thing I can say is that they were cheap. Other than that, f**k it...don't buy them. Yes, you can rank them, but it depends on your motive. If you are going to work on this site every. single. day. Then, you will be able to rank it. But I have some simple .info's that just won't leave the 3rd page of Google with only 10 pages on the site. And I don't like them enough to work on them over my larger sites. Plus, I outranked my own .info with an inner page from one of my larger sites on a test post. So yeah, think about how you'll be using them. haha.

I don't think the domain will effect a lot on the rank. I have seen numbers of .info websites get good rank.
