Hello, I honestly don't know where to start here. Me and a partner have an idea for an application and i'm curious as to what we need to do to reserve the rights to create and distribute the application without having to worry about others trying to copy our idea? My biggest worry is that we spend a year developing this and right when we get ready to launch someone else comes out with something similar...what can we do to reserve the rights? Any information is greatly appreciated, thanks guys

you can't patent an idea. All you can do is try to get there firstest with the mostest.

Once you have the application running, you can apply for a software patent.

be first to market with a product and you are half way there. waste to much time worried about the copyrights and someone will hit the market before you and your copyright wont matter at all. write the code and worry about legal once you have a stable product.
