What is your strategy regarding which keywords to use? I type in a term using the Google Keywords tool & use the "exact" search. I'm just wondering as I usually only find that the keywords with a lot of searches either have medium or high competition. I'd like to find keywords that have a lot of searches but low competition, as all of us probably do. Was wondering what strategy you guys use for finding keywords, include what you use to determine if these keywords are good please.
its hard to find like those, maybe you can look at the long tail keywords, some long tail keywords got high searches and low competition but its very few.

You can use Google Adwords Keyword Tool for the keyword research. The keywords with high search volume and low competition are very hard to find. May be you can go for the long tail keywords.
actually there are enough long tail keywords to be explited but the problems are these frqluent google cheges of algorithm

Steps I will do during keyword analysis process, 1. Collect the entrance keywords for that page from GA. 2. Will check out the monthly searches in Google adword keyword external tool for common niche and entrance keywords. 3. List out some KW's and check out their reach in Google insights 4. Will check competitors for those KW's 5. Finally will do a KW optimization ( combining the list of KW's into 3 )
in keyword selection, i am using google adwords.. i pick those with low competition.. and using long tailed keyword nowadays is helpful because it is direct to the point. it what the visitors are looking. aside from that, in keyword selection, think as if you are the surfer, and if your are the surfer, what will you be looking on the web.
