A few beginner questions

I'm new to SEO and adsense and the like, and I have a few basic questions.

    1. If I had a blog on a video game or similar, would it be wise to post a link to my blog on related video game websites or forums? Would this be illegal or get me banned by andesne?

    2. If I was putting articles on blog, and each article was around 400 words. How many keywords or key phrases should I have in that particular article/post. And how many times should that keyword be repeated?

    3. What are some other basic tips or suggestions to help me improve the traffic to my site and in turn get better adsense results. Please only fair and legal methods that will not get me banned.

    Thank you alot.

    1. You can post a link within any of the article, don't do link spamming.
    2. For SEO 3% to 4% keyword density is safe.
    3. As you are interested to link exchage with other blogs, I think stick with this one & do it properly to get targeted visitors. Besides of this you can do other traditional offpage SEO works.

Post a link WITHIN an article? Are you saying if I post a link to my article on a forum or a website, I should link back to that site? I don't plan on link spamming, but what actually constitutes link spamming? Could I post my link on a few related websites? Or what.

Yes..what I said that you can ask your link exchange partner to write an unique article & leave his blog url into the article. Then you just post that article in your blog. If you leave any link without any meaning that could be consider link spam.

To simplify, most potent link,is INSIDE related text ,with related anchor (for example link to watch store is best being in a text about watches, with anchor like "elegant watches".

Oh, so if I was to post my link on a forum, I would write a detailed post related to my blog, and then put my link in there? Is that correct? I don't have a link exchange partner could I do this on a forum.

What I said is not a MUST.
You just have to realize, that not all backlinks have the same "weight". Some carry more power, some carry less. A single link with no anchor has much less weight, than a related link, with good anchor, inside a related text.
Sure you can throw a link to a forum, you'll just get less "backlink weight", than you could.
    That's all.

Google might disable adsense from several reasons, we can't say exactly, until you show the site (and even then, not sure).
Maybe it was adult rated, maybe you had spam/piracy links inside, maybe you clicked on your own banners.

Say if you have text about watches , then it probably goes something like
...watches...switss......price... watches.... link_to_your_site_with_anchor("Exclusive Swiss watches")... some more watches text... more text..

    :)

Ok thank you. So a detailed and relevant post on relevant forum, with my link included with an anchor would be strong?

Just remember this, for using adsense on ones account one needs traffic, and without traffic there is no as such advantage of using adsense........
