What are some ideas for an original website? I have a domain which I really like, it's brandable however it's not a real word. If you were starting up a totally fresh website, what do you think would be a great idea? I've thought of things from a shop, to a directory, but they have all been done so many times. I want to get those creative ideas flowing so I can think of something to do with the domain.

That is easy and flexible, and you can fill it with new content gradually. Then, when you confirm there is some interest for your idea, you can add other components like ecommerce, directory, forum, etc.
I really think you should start with yourself and ask what you are passionate about. What would you do all day long if you had all the money and security you could ask for? Another question to ask is, if you only had one year to live what would be the most important thing you would like to focus on?
