Best ways to drive traffic ?

With the help of directory, article submissions and social bookmarking do we get any traffic ?...
I have used all these techniques and got good back links but not traffic..So please advice me which is best technique to drive traffic and how ?

When you get backlinks from submitting on directories, article site and bookmarking, the easier for your visitors to see and notice your site. That way, traffic comes to your site.

 

These techniques used to increase ranking and higher ranking will send you a traffic. Its long process and write some article & submit into high PR article directories.

 

IMO Bookmarking websites are the best way to get Hugh traffic, like Twitter and Facebook are the best choices

 

I would say, Social bookmarking sites are good in providing good traffic to your website. Digg is the best in it.

 

All of the methods you are doing the perfect methods to get targeted visitors. My best advice as far as generating traffic is concerned therefore to pick one method, and stick with it. Then, once you're done, pick another method and stick with that too.

This way, at very least you'll end up with a couple of well developed streams of traffic, which may not be perfect, but will still end up bringing in targeted visitors.

All the methods you've mentioned might provide some traffic, but the real goal of all those techniques is to IMPROVE YOUR SEARCH ENGINE RANKINGS. This will take some time (often 12 months or more), but once your search engine positions improve you should start seeing some real traffic to your website.

I've never seen any significant traffic from directories or articles. Social bookmarking can provide some traffic, but each bookmarking site works differently and they all require time to figure out and benefit from. Just keep doing what you're doing and be patient... traffic will eventually come as your search engine positions improve...

 

backlinks gives you better ranking but it really depends on your keyword selection as well. if you keywords not worth generating any traffic then even you are on page 1 , there will be no traffic

 

Are your pages optimized? If they are not, you are losing a lot of traffic. I thought optimizing your pages was difficult but in reality it is not. All you have to do is learn how to do it and stick with the "rules".

persistance would be the key, and not to target only one keyword. I think the mistake that most people make is that they target only one keyword in SERP. Write some articles and submit to article directories.
