I used existing scripts, and modified it to my needs and paid a php programmer guy when I needed help on specifics fixes. I was lucky, and did it in under 2 days (I had it all planned in my mind). Then I made improvements over 2 weeks. I used CPA offers @seqqa Music sites are good and traffic are easy to get. Backlink with Youtube.
Question. I am a little puzzled so I thought I would ask you. I didn't read all of the responses so I may have missed something. Why did you decide to sell a site that makes $1000/mth for $10,000??? Are you suggesting that you made a good sale? If you have indeed made $1000/mth, then you sold the site very cheap. Let me know next time you have a site like that you want to get rid of.
Maybe he need money for better project or want to buy something in offline. And this something can bring more money.

It all comes down to traffic and revenue in the end - can you share how much traffic you had, how much you were making monthly, etc?
@cook08, I used flippa.com to sell the site. I also listed it on buysellwebsite.com List it on both and you'll get a lot of potential buyers. I used that $10k I made, and turned it into $20k. Now I'm working through the details to sell the site at $40k A trick I did is I went on Flippa.com, and I looked at sites that were making good money. I asked the buyer any questions I had. Then I went out, and tried to build the same site as they did. I would get the script off a warez site; and I would try to build the same backlinks they had using backlinkwatch.com.
