first of all, google search engine hasn't always been in first. in 2005, they were briefly bumped to second place by myspace. and no. it is impossible that Google will be first forever. Has any company been first in their industry forever? I've also found that some other search engines are getting better than google, so it's only a matter of time before they get replaced.

What search engine do you think will come on top?

I think Google will stay on top for a long time, it has way too much marketshare. If anything Baidu looks good.

Of course it won't be no. 1 forever, but it will be in the top for a very long time, if not as a search engine, it will be able to keep up as a company with different products for a very long time.
Take a look at IBM. They used to be Google of their own time. They're still around, even though they're not as strong, and mainly focused on other things.

I think they'll be on the top of this market till the market exists.

So the question is how long this market will exist. :) The social media has started to already change it / make it less important. We manage a blog and we are getting the 66 of the traffic NOT from search engines, w/o paying too much attention on the social media stuff.

No. Google's customer service leaves a lot to be desired.

One can not compare Google with facebook Both are totally different sites. Google is a search engine having a lot of applications and facebook is just a social networking sites.

It is unlikely that the internet will work in the same way it currently does forever. New steps are often caused by luck, so unless Google is very skilfull and lucky to catch on with all new movements, they will get overtaken at one point.

I believe Google is still number one in search engines.
I don't see Facebook beating Google since Facebook is a social networking site while Google is a search Engine. So what's the relation?
Facebook is number one on social networking sites.

Google won't be first forever because there is always going to be room for improvement. Something new, better will pop up eventually. I think however that Google will never be very far from first place even in 30 years from now.

Many thought Yahoo would stay the best and as we all saw, they have sunk to a level we never seen. I think they made a big mistake in not selling to Microsoft!...who knows if Bing will be among te top SE's in 30 years.
