Buying Skilled Programmer to convert my Visual Basic application

    Hey People

I made a web browser in visual basic but due to VB being very bland i am thinking of converting the file to another language in order to get a better dynamic user interface. I will basically need a user interface designed based on my already created visual basic application but obviously it needs to look a lot better than the visual basic layout and some coding to make the browser work preferably without using IE

I can PM you with my current design if it will help with the quotation

Can you please tell me how much people usually charge for this kind of work?

    Thank you

Its a simple thing to create a new UI, its damn near impossible to work without IE without having to code your own browser from scratch :) If you absolutely MUST run without IE then try chromium and modifying that.

Not true you can use other things besides IE such as gecko which is like Firefox.

As for a interface you can create a custom interface in VB.net..

Thanks for the info, I wanted to use a different web browser because the popups that come up when you go on websites open in IE and it takes away the illusion tht my web browser is running independently from IE, if you understand my meaning. I have created an interface using Visual Basic but i have been told that if i move to another platform i could make a much more professional layout

    this is my current UI

Do you think if i moved to say C++ it would look better?

Definite no. Implementing a basic interface into C++ is a tedious task alone, making it look pretty? Not even worth it. Also if you ported this to C++ you'd essentially need to program an entire new browser. (No IE controls in C++) Also remaking it in C++ wouldnt change anything, it would still have the same default system look.

You were misinformed, there is absolutely no reason you can't make a good GUI in vb.net. I would gladly take on this task and could create you a professional interface to your liking. PM me or add me on msn

Also implementing gecko will make it FF based.

^ He's obviously using .Net from the screenshot. Why does the version of .Net matter. They're pretty much all the same. Hurpdurp

That screen shot doesn't have to be .NET. Ive made better looking browsers then that in VB6. Its a force of habbit, everytime I hear vb. i think vb6 or below. I'm use to vb.NET being said.

If the purpose of your browser is for helping people surf porn, i'd suggest go for a firefox, chrome, IE addon.
