    It depends on the project. If you plan to sell some links or banners it is better to have high PR to increase prices for links, but if you plan to get a traffic then think about backlinks and serps ;)

    Not true. Google says PR is one of many factors that go into search engine rankings. One of many, but still a factor.

    Yes, it might be one of the 200 factors that affect search engine rankings and it takes about 0.001% of the over all criteria. Which means you'll just gonna fool your self if you still consider this as 1 factor that would affect your rankings. If it really matters, then the first page of Google will only be filled with sites that has PR 7-9. Ang there will be no chance for sites that has only PR 0-3 to even get close to it.

    Well, I'll just have to keep fooling myself then. To rank on Google's first page for a noncompetitive keyword, you can probably put a PR1 site there just by having good keywords in the title tag alone. To rank on Google's first page for a highly competitive keyword, you'll notice mostly high-PR pages there.

    By the way, suichiro, I'm on Google's first page for several dozen moderately competitive keywords, as well as hundreds of less competitive long-tail keywords. I do have a pretty good idea of what it takes to get keywords to rank.

    SERP is what is important. You can get more traffic and more sales from search engine visitors, ;)

    Personally PR as the higher the PR the more you are an authority on the niche, the SERP can be tweaked in a short time, but PR is Google's own classification of how relevant you ae

    SERP. Page rank not give you any business neither pass you traffic form search engine but if you can get high SERP on any of your targeted keywords then you see the difference even if your page rank 0
