you need to do seo work, look for guides and info via searches....judging by what you know don't bother paying anyone yet as you don't fully understand the benefits and how to do it.

He could pay me, but seeing as he knows nothing about it by the looks of things i'm warning him to not pay me or YOU or anyone at all until he does some research on SEO and therefore understands what he's paying for.

You can first perform solid SEO and get keywords that arte in your niche that you can
get on Google's first page on.
Then, you can create content (articles, videos) and build links to them in order to get to
the first page.

Lookup how to get to first page on Google. There are plenty of YouTube videos that will help you.

Do some research and find out how you can stay on Page One of Google. This is what gets you traffic.

Of course, ppc is much quicker, but if you don't know what you're doing, you could lose your shirt...

Target really low competition keywords. You can find out via google keyword tool.

 

PPC is quicker because it can drive traffic immediately to your site when done
properly. You'd better know what you're doing when doing it, though:
you can lose a lot of money and get bvery few conversions.

Research how you can generate solid, low-cost ppc campaigns
that you have some control over and keep your spend at a manageable
level, say $5 per day. Keep watch for some results, scale (expand) when you
have some success.

You got to do your SEO homework by finding keywords to target. Do a lot of back links, and after that check your analitics acount for Google (organic) trafic. Good luck. Pm for more info.

You have to optimize google.com to get a lot of visitors from it. The term is known as SEO. Download Google's SEO starter guide pdf and start learning about it. Just search and you will get the link.

 

You should check which of your posts visitors see the most. Then, make back link for those pages.
