I have a taken on a client that is using a url unfriendly shopping cart (they have just paid a LOT of money for it). Can anyone provide any information about ASp URL rewriting. Links to turotials etc MUCH appreciated. This client has a limited budget, but if anyone would like to take a look at the site and give me a quick idea of cost then that would also be considered.
In Classic ASP you can create a special 404-page, not the std. one in IIS. BUT! that requires a lot of re-programming of the shopping cart. The otherway is to buy a ISAPI-app and do "not so much" re-programming, onlye where You "write" urls to the client. If the cart is in ASP.NET, you still need to do some re-programming, but it is easy to do. cya, /PatrikB
Thanks for the advice, so unless someone comes up with an idea here, I guess it is off to scriptlance for me
Hi, if you've had any experience with htaccess and apache URL rewriting then the ISAPI rewrite tool would be a very good place to start. It costs $69 so shouldn't break the bank (even if budget's small ) and if you do decide to go this route - the support forum seems to have most things covered... I'm not sure if this can be used in conjunction with ASP.net but we use it with ASP3 and ColdFusion so I would guess the scripting language is irrelevant. Good luck!
Hi, i havent done rewriting myself, but intend to do it in near future, here are my links: http://www.iismods.com/ here are some commercial ones http://www.iisrewrite.com/ http://www.smalig.com/url_rewrite-en.htm http://www.opcode.co.uk/components/rewrite.asp http://www.isapirewrite.com http://www.blunck.info/iehttpheaders.html Also check this link http://www.helicontech.com/download/ Please update this ticket and tell me if any of them help you.
i know nothing in programming, But have done rewriting to clickjobs.com, indialist.com etc., Just start a thread here at the apache forum, and also in highrankings and searchengineworld., Nintendo, here is very helpful., There are lots of people out there to help., b.o.l
Sarathry, thanks for that, Apache is no problem at all for me, but this is windows IIS and I am 100% rubbish at Windoze. I am a mod at Highrankings anyhow so could ask one of the other mods (Chrishurst has a windoze hosting company) But I was asking here in case anyone could point me in the right direction I tend not to ask for help in places I moderate at, not quite sure why LOL
I'm thinking about implementing this one on my server, but haven't yet: http://cheeso.members.winisp.net/IIRF.aspx
