Is this project risky?

    Hi
I am trying to develop a blog ( 100 articles unique articles) with topic is education. total main 5 keywords have combined search has 6million google searches.

I am going to spend on SEO about 800 dollars ( 4months) to get it to the top of page 1 for 5 keywords. Say for example I will get it to page 1 ( top ten position) after 4 months.

Do you think at the end, i will be able to recover my investment by earning through adsense? Will i get traffic.

Does it sound logical to take the risk?

I personally wouldn't do that. 100 pages is not such a big blog. Is education a high paying adsense sector?

Lets say you have a 2% click through. Lets say each click is worth 5c. You would need 16,000 clicks to recoup your $800. That means 800,000 hits.

    Unlikely.

I agree with Maslova. Sounds like it would not be possible to recover your expenses. Can you not do for yourself what an SEO company would do for you? Anything they can do, you can do, too. All the info you need is right here at DP. And who told you that your site would be on page one after four months? This is something that cannot be predicted or guaranteed.

I am not so good in adsense but you should always go with reserve numbers, the worst possible, when you are planning business, in order not to expect so much.

Here is a rough calculation for top10, up to position 6.

Use keyword tool and analyze number of exact searches per keyword. count that you will get around 2% of searches for keyword if you are in top10. Check adsense value per click average for your niche. Let's say that you will have 1% CTR on adsense.

if your niche click is around $0.5 per click than this look like:

    100.000 exact searches = 2.000 visits
    2000 visits = 20 clicks
    20 clicks = $10

If you have more content, you can expect much more long tail secondary keywords so you will get more clicks.

p.s. these are just rough numbers, I am not an adsense expert, I have some cheap earnings but nothing special...

My real question is: Are you sure that any good SEO specialist will promise to get you into top10 for 5 keywords of 6million searches total ? Thins twice about that or you will maybe invest $800 and get stucked on page3 with no clicks and no money :)
