    Does anybody know if forum backlinks from the body of a post have more value than forum backlinks from the signature in ranking?

    There is no difference except on where they were included. They do the same thing and they go to same site indicated.

    as far as i know.... both links has equal weightage, if we are talking about search engine prospective
    It doesn't create any difference from where that link is pointing back to your website, you can post in body section as well as in signature section. Only thing ithat matter is it should be DoFollow Link :)

    They have the same value but don't forget that things like weight of text, keyword density, keyword proximity, and other factors can greatly increase/decrease SEO/SEM value at any given time. You also want to make sure you use varying anchors and do good keyword analysis. Nowadays, if a search engine sees that you are trying to exploit a so-called niche too much, you can get penalized. You really can't cut the corners so some degree of grinding/maintenance is required. It takes a lot of work and most don't want to do it (don't blame them.. it can be overwhelming and daunting at times, especially since results are not always as fast as we'd like them to be). That's why people hire folks like my team.. Just saying. ;)
