    Hi,

I am helping an offline client of mine try to get higher search rankings.

    So far, I've:
    - submitted URL to multiple business directory
    - purchased backlinks for the keywords
    - created & submitted youtube videos linking back to website
    - created facebook fan page

any other tips & suggestions? thanks!

Yeah thats exactly what I thought.

submitting sites to search engines and creating backlinks are online marketing for offline business.

Offline marketing would be stuff like posting ads on bulletin boards around a college campus.

Your first promotion method is great, use that promotion method as much as you can. Also you can use the power of Google Maps listing.

Depending on the client if you can create an interesting and helpful Youtube video you can get thousands of people seeing your message.
If it's non-related make it very high quality and have a sponsored message at the beginning of the video and a link the description.

You can get 1000's of views on the video a month and you will get a slow but steady stream of visitors.

Definitely Google places, plus have the client ask satisfied customers to leave real reviews at the Google places listing. Also yahoo and bing map inclusion with real client reviews. Directory submissions are still effective and are sanctioned by Google.

In a small town with only a couple grocery stores... if you have a local blog and want to get local traffic, you could advertise on the back of grocery store receipts. Another idea, if you want to build a list from the locals is you could print out a special coupon for your product/service and in order for it to be active is they have to go to your designated site... and from their they would fill out a form that gets them into your auto responder account.

    Hey,

Personally, to market my business offline I use two different methods.

    1. Business Cards- They are a great a relativley cheap way to market you business offline. Whenever you meet somebody give them one of your business cards and tell them a little about what you do and why your giving them the business card. Don't take it over board and have them there for half and hour for a presentation. Just give a brief summary. Having a business card makes you look all the more professional. Professionalism counts big time when try to get your name around. There are many sites where you can customly make awesome and unique business cards.

    2. T-Shirt Logo's- This right here has been a great way for me to offline market my business. When I first started out I started seeing traffic boost on the days I wore my shirts. Then I took it a step furthur and got shirts made for friends who you could say people want to dress like. With more people wearing my shirts and getting my logo out there it has brought me a nice bit of traffic and is very easy to get started with all the cheap and simple T-Shirt creation websites out there.

It's all about figuring out what works best for you! Hope this helps. ( :

    God bless,
    William Veasley
