I am selling http://GeneralTalk.net, the forum has a lot of potential and the domain itself has 2 key words. The forum is currently on IPB and I have an active IPB licence as well. The forum also has a Premium Theme which is clean, professional and suits the theme of the forum very well. After the sale, I would be happy to help out a bit with the forum if you need any help.

The forum is on my host and after the sale I'll be happy to keep it hosted for a bit but would prefer if the buyer can move it to their own host.

Once I get the price I am looking for, I'll PM the highest bidder and we will then be able to continue on from there. I will also give you the details of the IPB licence and the login for that so that you can change the details to yours.

Is the database original or has it been merged with another and has the community always been powered by IPB?

The forum was originally on MyBB but was then converted to IPB after I got the licence. The licence expires in May 2011, it's not compulsory to renew but if you want the latest downloads from the IPB then you need to have an active licence(it costs $25 to renew for 6 months). The traffic is good, currently we are getting about 40-50 visitors a day and I have just started using Google Adsense but it should make a bit of money, before that I sold ad space and all of that would equal to about $30 a month, but I had the ads in the footer and after first post, if you were to have in the header then the revenue would be higher.

 

The Alexa Rank has improved by over 430,000 and is now ranked 1,895,698.

 

Will you support the buyer properly move the forum to their host?

 

I know a bit about hosting and switching hosts but I got a friend who know much more about this than me so he'll help me out.

Yes, I have sold ad space to other sites and Birdy's Nest is one of them. The Google Ads were after the first post but I have removed them for now. Ads after the first post is probably the best spot to have them, banner 720x90.

Members get GT Cash by making new posts and threads, the mod I'm using for that is really good and you can have lots of features to go with the GT Cash, like a shop, bank, stocks, even loans and many more.

 

Is GT cash real money which you can exchange for real goods? There doesn't seem to be an explanation for guests.
Are you able to place the google ads for a day? Just want to see some sort of earnings.
Also, does Birdy's nest pay monthly or has she paid a lump sum already? If so is she willing to renew the advertising when it expires. When does it expire?

GT Cash is virtual cash which you can use to buy things from the forum shop(currently it's just forum items such as custom rank titles etc).

Could you rephrase the question, I don't fully understand what you mean by that.

She paid me for 3 months and expires on the 25th of February 2011. She bought 3 months before that and renewed it in November, I think should would renew again but I can't guarantee this as it's her choice. But I got another person who wants to buy a banner ad space next to the Birdy's Nest banner and his banner will be added for a month when his site opens.

 

How much does she pay for 3 mths? Also, could I get a screenshot of past google earnings?

 

She paid about £14 for 3 months and I had Google Ads for some days, since I decided that I was going to sell the site as buyers would want to see some revenue coming from the site.

Right now, on average it would make about $25-30 a month, depending on where the ads are. This includes the ad spot sold to Birdy's Nest. Would make the top end of the estimate or even more if you sell another ad spot next to the Birdy's Nest banner. The monthly revenue includes estimated earning from the Google Ads from the earnings over the last couple of days.

 

Without proof of google earnings I'll just start you off with a $100 bid.

 

I'm going to have to reject that bid as I already had much higher bids.
