Hello friends, I am same like you all.. I do the SEO work and believe in hard work for creating every single link...I think qualitatively than quantitatively when giving out certain information.. I wanted to know... Why does Google keep it's PR algorithm secret from all of us? Does anybody know about the Google algorithm and it's equation? I hope i would get positive reply .. thanks
If Google released that information then there would be a lot more manipulation by "SEO experts" which Google doesn't want.
The PR Algorithm doesn't need to be exactly known, we already know how it works. Getting links from PR sites is how you get PR. Getting 0 PR links from inner-pages of domains with PR can still increase your PR, but not as much. Getting an on-page contextual link from a site with PR6 will lead to the linked-to page getting a PR of 4 almost every time. Getting a PR7 link leads to a PR5 page frequently as well. After PR5, all bets are off, as very few pages have PR6 and above.
the "original" google algorithm is somewhat documented (since it was patented)... they have obviously tweaked it quite extensively since. in any case, it is basically depends on the quantity and authority of sites that are linking to you for a specific keyword
The algorithm changes time to time and that is what we call Google Dance. There is no point if you get the old formula or equation. Best chances is getting your website SEO optimized according to whitehat SEO.
if they let us all know what the algorithm was, then it would be x100 easier for anyone to see exactly how sites get good PR which would make it much easier for people to screw with their system making it instantly obsolete.
LOL that would be the same like giving money to everyone... they make money out of keeping it a secret. Other answer is to keep the results clean as they wish... if lots of ppl know how it really worked the search engine was really messed up!!!
Because that's their business, like Coca-Cola... Why don't you genuinely tell us how you make your money online (if any)?
Google knows that, if they revealed their algorithm, webmasters would devote every waking hour to "gaming" the system to manipulate results. That would effectively remove control of the search engine from Google and place it in the hands of sharp webmasters. And that's not going to happen!
if they dont keep it secret then Google going to full with spam and all other fake links and Google don't want this because they are no1
While i do not quarrel with Google's refusal to indicate toolbar Page Rank, i think Google still has a responsibility to maintain a level playing field for all by either showing the toolbar Page Rank for all or not showing it for all. Hence those web pages that currently show toolbar Page Rank should have it removed if Google decides not to show toolbar Page Rank any longer.
