Lets say my keyword is "This is my keyword" I was wondering, which one would be better ranked - BestThisIsMyKeyword.com (It has Best prefix, but extension is .com) or ThisIsMyKeyword.us (Exact match, but .us extension). Thanks a lot!
Although they say a TLD doesn't matter I think it does, I've probably bought over 2000 domains (and thousands more were searched) and the com goes first followed by the net, then the org and info (not sure about country specific). Here's what I'd do. com first followed by net or org. Then use hyphens. Then if necessary use suffix followed by prefix. Then finally if necessary the info. JMO but the com, net and org are easier to rank, the others take more work. Seems as though others are thinking the same from the way they're available, but I also think that many people choose the info just because it's 99 cents.
do you offer your services just in the us ? if so it probably better to go for the us extension.. either way the name is a part but not the main part.. maybe you should look for something like this-is-my-keyword.com this is better than one connected word
Have to disagree about the us TLD, I don't see very much us domains after delicious, at least not in proportion to com, net, and org. And while I don't see that much difference for shorter keywords I'd use non hyphenated keywords first, they're easier to remember and also to sell. It looks spammy with the longer tail keywords as well.
Yes as bob25 says , go either with .com .net or org and as a last resort .info. I like using adjectives or verbs as prefix or a suffix. Using pronouns seems to give bad results
