Any idea about how long it should take for you to get a response about being reinstated?

It's hard to predict. Could take anywhere from a few minutes to a couple of weeks, some languages can take longer. What is your editor name?

page rank is not important for dmoz.org . dmoz is the best directiory that everybody use.

Note the emphasis on "submitting" rather than "listing". :)

Well, it would sure help if there wasn't so much crap submitted to ODP. Especially all the mirror, affiliate and spam. That would probably speed things up quite a bit depending on the category. I personally have to trash about 10 submitted sites for every one I list because of spam. :( That can be discouraging at times.

jjwill, 1/10? What sort of category is that?

The sad part is that it takes a lot of time and effort to sort the trash from the gold. It can take quite a bit of time and detective work. I know that reviewing those 10 unlistable sites take far longer to examine, than reviewing 10 obviously listable ones...

If you are saying that editors should just look for the obviously listable ones, that logic is somewhat flawed. On the surface, it can be near impossible to identify a original unique site from an affiliate without digging deep in almost all the categories I edit. :( Many times a site looks great, very listable at first glance. Then I dig deeper and sure enough it turns out to be affiliate spam. There went several minutes. Multiply that by hundreds or even thousands and you can start to grasp the frustration.

Haha, no, that's not what I mean. I mean that few people appreciate how much time is needed to properly review a website, especially in some categories.

Well Dmoz is great for directories and start-up search engines, if you're into any of the two the data is pretty useful

A feel so sorry for you if you actually believe that a dmoz listing will bring a PR increase at all on its own, let along a PR10. :(
