Happy New Year P&R!

Discussion in 'Politics & Religion' started by alexispetrov, Dec 30, 2010.

I wanted to make a brief post to say Happy New Year to all my friends who frequent P&R.

As tonight marks the end of another decade I thought it might be fun to share any truly memorable, funny or crazy quotes/threads you recall from this past year in P&R. (The idea came to me from another thread.)

Anywho, I'm not sure how many will be interested but I figured I'd get the ball rolling with what I consider to be one of the funnier, crazier threads.

    Enjoy the lulz.

Happy new year everyone. Alexis was presumably first here to see it. Anyone West of California before the international date line, or will I be last?

Aww, this is such a lovey dovey thread ------------back to reality:

The World Book Encyclopedia states: “The Roman ruler Julius Caesar established January 1 as New Year’s Day in 46 B.C. The Romans dedicated this day to Janus, the god of gates, doors, and beginnings. The month of January was named after Janus, who had two faces—one looking forward and the other looking backward.” So New Year’s celebrations are founded on pagan traditions.

I guess it's another day the atheists want to be religious.

Everyone else, I hope you have all had a great night - it's almost 8 PM on New Years Day here and I'm just starting to wake up properly; bit of a hangover but besides that all good :)
