I would suppose it's in the 3% region. People say you "will get banned" if you have over 20% consistently, although this is completely false. Google will flag your account and inspect it if your CTR is high on average, but that's it: An inspection, which if it turns out you are doing things right won't be a problem. Don't put much effort into being "average" when it comes to Adsense, just make sure you're bringing in that cash every month :)

Even 30% wouldn't make any harm if reached properly...

My account average has always been around 5-10%. Some niches have a very low CTR no matter what you do. It really is niche dependent.

i am around 0,50 / 1% with most of my gaming websites but it could be the niche in that case.

These questions are so general. Some niches have a 20% CTR while others have just 0.3%. Just keep testing with different ad positions and you'll see what gives the best CTR IMO ;)

I find gaming sites pay well overall for clicks though, so lower CTR is still ok in this case

As long as you are white hat, your fine. It depends on your template and niche. Some niches and a decent template will get you an easy 10% CTR. I have friends that have some sites getting 20%-40% CTR. As long as its white hat, your usually fine.
