When to start blog marketing

Discussion in 'General Marketing' started by RachelCorrine, Dec 22, 2010.

My blog is new and I am eager to start marketing, but not sure if it is ready. I don't want to lose readers because there is not enough content...how many posts do you think I should have before I start working to attract readers?
    Thanks!

As long as you have a few good, useful post up there, I'd say you're good. Just be sure to update it on a regular basis.

It would be helpful to at least know what niche your blog is in. Even better is a link to your blog so it can be reviewed so you can get some honest answers from forum members. Be prepaired for criticism, what doesn't kill you makes you and your blog stronger!

    Rachel,

I would start right away as you don't want to procrastinate.

The more posts you do the better, but when you are starting out, it is okay to do say 1 post per week or so until you get the feel for it all.

Remember too that you need to promote your blog by geting quality backlinks - a lot of people forget this aspect.

Finally, join My blog Log for free and start adding friends once you are signed up. This simple step will drive a lot of good trffic to your blog.

The number of post does not matter compared to how interesting on each post you made. Many of succeed blogs like johnchow.com or showmoney.com did not start with a bunch of posts. Only a few but attractive were made. That was enough to make them popular until these days.

Mixing content and ads is the best way. If you provide good interesting content as often as you can, nobody will complain.

    Hope that helps,

If you are satisfied about the quality content do not waste time in thinking of promoting it. Start as early as possible. Start making backlinks.

Make sure your blog is optimized for the search engines, make sure there is something that will be of interest your prospect and away you go. Bookmark your posts also to get your message out as quickly as possible.

As long as you don't overwhelm your readers with advertisement it should be good.

Also, try to avoid direct affiliate links.

one quality post could bring you a wave of new readers
frequency wise, I'd say once a week, but I've seen blogs that only update a couple times a month and still get great traffic

Start blog marketing if you are pretty confident that your posted articles can entice your readers to follow you. It is more on quality rather than quantity.

I tried to visit your site, but taking too much time to load. First try to decrease site load time, its also good for SEO.
