There is no comparison between wordpress and Blogger. Wordpress is far too developed and customizable than blogger. After two years of blogging on Blogger, finally I am shifting to wordpress this week.

I presume most here are using wordpress for their CMS. Tough blogspot blogs are great for additional backlinking and SEO.

I like using blogger, because it's free, easy to use and customize, many free templates, easy to set up adsense, and we can buy own domain name (without blogspot) but still using their server.

Wordpress has a much better community offering better support where needed. Although I'm usually a huge fan of Google in almost every one of their ventures, blogger is not one of these as it is too far behind wordpress as far as quality features are concerned and it seams to be centered more around making money from your blog than having fun building up a loyal readership

Wordpress, wordpress & nothing else. Almost every blogger starts at blogspot & then after becoming somewhat pro, shits to wordpress becauz wordpress is just the best.

I just started a blog today with Wordpress it was relatively easy as long as you know a little bit about hosting a site, it took me about ten min (only because I lost my user-name for my hosting site havent changed anything in a while) I already have a few posts to the blog and have added the blog link to all the links on my site, adding the links to my site took longer than setting up the blog.

NONE, if it means having your site using a free-hosted solution (wordpress.com or blogspot.com)

As for the platform, wordpress all the way. Get a nice domain, a nice small hosting account (preferably with cPanel), install wordpress and have a blast.
