I finally got to Google's 1st page for Ways to Make Money Online! Thank you!

I finally did it! After 13-14 months of hard work I finally got to the 1st page of Google for one of the most competitive keyword in my niche (ways to make money online). I watched my blog go from nowhere to be found on Google's top 1000 serps to 600, 450, 400, 300,....46, 18, 11, 13 and now finally #9.

I was sitting on page 2 (#11) for a few months, and whatever I did, I couldn't get it to the first page. I have been doing lots of link building lately and it finally paid off.

I really do owe it to the help of people on this and other forums. Last year I had no idea what SEO stood for. Never in a million years have I thought, I was gonna have my blog in Google's 1st page for a money making related keyword. I though that was impossible. I really did! But with the help of people on this and other forums I now managed to rank #9 for one of the most competitive keywords in my niche (and perhaps on the internet). Thank you all for helping me and others like me.

I know #9 is not much different than page 2, but for me, its a big deal and it gives me some hope and confidence to keep doing what I have been doing so far. Article submission, blog commenting, creating fresh content, forum posting, social bookmarking and any other method that we all know and should use.

I am going to keep working on it until I get it to the first 3 spots. I knwo it will be very hard. Its much easier to get from page 1000 to page 2 and 1, than getting from number 9 to number 8 and under.
But, I am going to keep doing what I have learned from people on this and other forums.

I am not posting this to brag about it of course it makes me happy, but I really wanted to post it here in hopes of giving other people a little motivation. Because I know that for me, I was ready to quit many many times, then I would read a post here from a member who had succeed and it would give enough fuel to keep going for a bit more. So, I am hoping it would give motivation to a people who are like me new and with not much experience. If you pt enough time and effort into it, you can do it. Thank you.

sites that never made anything, so it is possible to be
at the top of google and not get anything in return...

Your blog also looks out of place, is that how it supposed to look?

Thanks. Yeah I agree, being on the first page doesn't mean you can always get anything in return. it all comes down to how well you monetize it. But for me its not just that. Its more of a self confidence and motivation. Its the fact That I was able to do this in about a year with no prior knowledge of seo or even building a website what so ever and without spending a dime. To give you an idea of how clueless I was when I bought this domain last year, I entered my url and went to see my website! I though there would be a site where I could go in and add my articles!... Didn't know I had to have hosting, build a site,and etc! Yeah thats how clueless I was, Thats why its a big deal for me personally.

Are you using IE? I am having some problem with the theme and I am actually trying to change the theme. It doesn't wok very well in IE. Thanks for the heads up anyway.

Its good that you have not spent a dime, and have gotten as far you have. I setup a forum about 3 months ago, and so
far I have spent lots of money, forum, hosting, posters, and still do not know what I am doing wrong...but it is good
that you can get as far as you can and not spend much to get there, and those that spend money and still cant get there....

 

Nice forum you got there WebCo...it just goes to show that you have a weird looking
domain, and you are doing quite well it looks like. I would never be able to remember that domain.

I have to say though that not spending any money means lots of work and I mean a lot. But, then I had been out of job for 6 months (when I had started my blog), so I dint have money to spend on anything, plus I would much rather to learn things myself.
But, now that I know some things, I think if I had the money for it, I would outsource a few things like article submissions and etc.

I just want people to realize that you don't necessary have to spend any money to get there. You can do everything for free (expect of course domain and hosting which is really nothing).

Well, thats the hard part. Knowing how to monetize it the right way. I am working on a new (simple and cleaner looking) theme. After that I will start working on testing different monetization methods. Thanks.

but the competition is really hard

 

you must have really hard worked a lot for getting ranked for such a keyword which has lot of competition. Do tell us what gave u so much success.

 

Your website got a sitelink and that show some sign of authority. That's why you ranking was climbing up nicely. Congratulation for your hard work paid off.

 

Please share me your idea to get this 1 page even I know it won't give much respond but at least to be the 1st and at the top of the page is better then...

Thanks for motivation.Last week for my keyword i have been ranked #6 and this week I`m #5 and keep doing this from 5-6 weeks someday I`ll be first i know .

Good job! But I would have to agree: being first on google does not mean you can sell. Heck, you can be first tomorrow on google if you choose a keyword such a "khfkdfhkdhfdksfhkds"... but it does not mean it has searches and traffic.

I forgot what domain it was, but someone tried to sell a domain yesterday that had a couple
of nonsense words, then claimed it was number one in google....I guess if I went after
Spank my A$$ - I bet i could rank number 1 in no time.
