How much importance do you think Google and even other search engines put into web page loading times? As we all know Google anounced a while back now that loading times will be considered when working out serps yet they also said it will play a very tiny part in their algo's compared to other stuff. Yet Google have really made quite a big deal of it adding a section in their webmaster tools console and even have a section advising on improvements to further that they even promote the use of page speed addon for firefox and firebug. So my question to you is do you think it plays a more important roll than they make out and do you care? Do you bother taking the time to make sure your sites are optimized for loading times? Cheers
I think it makes more of a difference to people visiting your website, I've noticed higher bounce rates on slow loading websites
i think website speed is for ease google bot to index your page/post...website speed is very useful for your visitor..if your web very slow i think your visitor will leave and search other web with same topic....
I totally agree there is a huge importance in terms of making the website more pleasing for visitors, who wants to use a slow website thats takes forever to load, nobody and if there are plenty of other sites that offer the same products/services/infomation that work much faster of course your going to go use them instead. So yeah totally agree to improve bounce rate of website and improve the user experiance its vital, but what about serps do you think it holds more power than the search engines are letting on?
time of web page loading is important for me because it may be another factor in a high bounce rate - where visitors leaves your site
Yes it is important for bounce rate and overall user experience. I don't think Google has included speed into their algorithm but they say it is a factor so it probably will in the future
