    Of course it won't!

Write some useful content and add try to get links from high PR sites and then you'll be indexed within a month. It's the only way I suppose.

I use Google sitemaps , links and Content...
Submitting URL is probably just Google poking fun at those who use it..!!

Id like to think it actually worked .. :)

As for using a site submission service - stear clear.. The spam will kill you!

I would suggest create and Submit your sitemap to Google.. it will crawl immediately.. Also Google Sitemap is there to help you get indexed.. so why worry, just create and submit. You may also submit and XML sitemap that could be helpful as well.

Many SEO pros will actually advise you not to submit your site to Google. The quickest way to get your site index is by having a link on a high Pr site “PR8 and above”. For us that don’t have that kind of money the best way is to make sure our content gets out.

You can get you site listed by

A> Submitting to directories for one way links
    http://www.smackdebt.com/submit-directory.htm

B> Writing articles and submitting to article directories.

Do it over and over again and you will do good with SERPs.
