It depends on what you're doing.

If you're promoting products, create reviews and post them as Youtube videos.

If you can get testimonials, post those.

If your website deals with finding solutions to a problem people have, post some information on how to solve it and then post a "teaser" of sorts that ultimately drops your website.

simply research what others are doing,
You should be able to tell stuff that online marketers upload. for youtube, its a numbers game.

thats the great thing about youtube. You can pretty much post whatever you want. You can promote your product, give reviews, testimonials, pretty much anything!

you can begin with creating a video and upload it, the key is to get traffic to it (social bookmarking, article marketing, etc).

    Hi there ssalinks,

You may want to start with creating an account on youtube. Then, start uploading videos about your products/services offered. (Avoid being too pushy about your product though. Simply state the advantages or benefits it can provide.) Then, you may use other seo strategies such as bookmarking, commenting on other people's videos, pinging and etc.

    Good luck! :)

Video marketing in general is one of the most effective ways to rapidly build your list. And the most
popular of them all is, as you've recently discovered is Youtube.

To get the best result here’s what you should do:

    1. Create 3 short, 5 minute videos a week with a valuable tip in each one
    2. Create your own blog and post the Youtube video.
    3. Post the video on social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, etc. with a link
to your squeeze page as a means to capture their name and email.
    4. At the end of each of your videos, remind your viewers to “Subscribe’ to your Youtube
Channel so that you can then be able to add them onto your email list.

    Simple as that.

    Hope this helps.

I have just started video marketing and have been doing as most said above, ensuring i tag the videos correctly
and try to use a title similar to a related video to show up in the related ads videos at the end.

    Does anyone use annotations anymore???

I have the site url in the video content, just wondered if annotations are effective or not?

    Alex.

Here's an idea that I have thought about implementing myself. I've just been too lazy. Instead of flat out promoting your product, make a creative, funny video to entertain people. Maybe it has a little something to do with your product. Then at the end of the video, or in the description, put a link to your product. People like to be entertained more than they like to be sold to.

Probably, it would depend on the niche. For example, a music lesson site would benefit greatly from YouTube Traffic. In fact, JustinGuitar.com gets most of it's traffic from YouTube I think. It's because based on my study, it was not optimized enough in the past to gain a lot of traffic (It is now somewhat). Therefore, YouTube vids propelled that site to the top.

However, some niches don't do well because they are not fun niches. Therefore, they don't get a lot of searches or viral traffic. For example, I doubt people are really searching much for Insurance videos.

Just like with Google SEO you need to start with the search strings that get traffic. Then create content around those. Use the strings in your title and description. Start with doing one video a week.

You need to make sure it is something people actually want to watch and try to make it professional or it will make your website look unprofessional, for example if you run a website from your bedroom don't create a video that is shot in your bedroom or it makes it clear to any potential customer that watches it that your a small time operator

I have used You Tube for quite a few customer promotions and to generate traffic, but if you want people to really make take notice 'funny' works the best, make someone laugh and add a short memorable url at the end and you will be surprised how much traffic comes. I agree with many other comments use other social media to promote it, use friends, colleagues and anyone you can to spread the word, and then add to other video networks like Vimeo.
