My page went from 4th place to 15th. What happened?

I hope you can help me figure something out. I wrote this article on my blog called Overcoming an inferiority complex. Then I started building some backlinks using guest posts, article directories submission, comments on blogs, forums, the works.

Five days later (yesterday), the post was on the 4th place on Google for the search “inferiority complex”. Six days latter (today), it’s on the 15th place. I have no idea what happened to trigger this drop.

Do you guys know what might have happened and if my post will get back to 4th place if I just wait a while?

    Thanks in advance,

    Eduard

you could have ranked high at first initially since the article was new, and then as a few days pass it was outdated and lost its freshness factor. Get some links to it and it should return even higher.

Maybe someone is targeting the same keyword and is creating more links back to their website?

Interesting. I didn't know about this freshness factor. I'll definitely keep building backlinks.

It is google dance .Search results may go down in seconds.so donot worry about that .
Create more links for that page you want to increse the position in search engines

    Hello,

This is normal. Sometimes google crawlers update the links which is called google dance. I suggest you keep creating back links and submit your pages to micro blogging website which will generate fast results/back links. The more back links you have there are less chances of such keywords fluctuations.

    Thank you

Google considers blog posts as 'news' so if you don't keep building links to it and alerting Google that the post is still relevant it will lose rank. (depending on the competition of course)

That's a really good analogy, I never thought of it like that before, but it makes a lot of sense.

The freshness factor mentioned by ipadhacks may be right
