Yesterday I made a happy discovery - after a few weeks of quite diligent effort, I've managed to push my forum up to the first result page of Google, using the most obvious keyword. For a few hours I even held the top position. However. For some reason Google is showing an extract from the members list of the forum - no problem in itself, it's easy to get to the fun stuff from there via the navbar. But of course it'd look a lot more nice and professional if it were the actual starting page that came up. So I was just wondering if anyone here has any advice on how to nudge Google in the right direction?
Try creating more backlinks micro blogging websites. The10millondollarhomepage has 1 but they might add more to their page.
That usually happens when there is more significant content on the other page. Make sure you have the keywords on the actual home page content, H1 tags, title etc
