I have been browsing forums for a while now and i see alot of people advertising there products/services here. It makes sence when you think about it as everyone on these forums are very targeted traffic. Just wanted to no if anyone has had great succes with this. Thanks Tom
It is definitely great for targeted traffic. Success and time input are closely related - also how fast your internet connection is and how valuable your comments.
DP is one of the main IM forums - and receives a lot of traffic. But as with any paid traffic, you can never generalise. Even with Adwords people fail to make money, & that's the biggest paid traffic platform in existance. The key will be to have a plan to test your ideas, & then work with the results you get.
It is definitely great for targeted traffic. Success depends though on other factors too: time involvement, quality of posts and threads, how fast your internet connection is etc. Considering all these things, I am quite satisfied at this stage.
Hey Tom, You can have great success with forum marketing, but realize one thing it takes time to do it right. You have to buil;d up a good reputation and following. That means to go into say a weight loss forum and make sure you are giving out helpful advice and tips. You offer support to members and try to help. After a month or so you can add a link to your product or service in your signature, then give it a week or so and make a post about it. If you follow that general plan you will have success and not look like every other marketer
don't you think, to build confidence you could give the first 2 or 3 away to build confidence as they can review product for you. and that alone would give instant credability
Hi guys thanks for your feedback i agree that you just can't march straight into a forum and start selling stuff i consider that as spam. You will have to build a good reputation and contribute to the forum. I would like to no the same questions as dallus raised in both his post. what has internet connection speed have to do with it? and giving away a few review coppies wouldn't that give you a bit of reputation if the reviews come back and are good? Many people put external links in their signatures, which provide backlinks to their website. This is good, but keep in mind this is a low quality link. So I would use it as a small part of your SEO. Higher quality links would be blogroll links on homepage content sites with PR, articles like EzineArticles and wikis. Other people just do ads, which don't necessarly have links in them. Such as "PM for details about...." That's a pretty good way to marketing your products, but I wouldn't suggest that being your primary means again. What are you looking for from a marketing standpoint?
You can use these forums to make money but don't put all your eggs in one basket, what if this forum were to be shut down? Best bet is to learn from this forum and apply the methods elsewhere on the net and create multiple different income streams.
If you can worth trust of members by providing quality service here at DP, only from one service you can get monthly residual income. But you can always save your time by outsourcing.
Well i am just looking for other ways to make money online as JWestwick said i am planing on creating multiple streams of income. I was trying to find out a bit more info about it realy. Thanks Tom

I think the biggest trap that people fall into online, is providing shoddy service. If you want to earn money and do well, then make sure you provide great products and awesome customer service.
Agree with above post. Also there is no easy way to make money online period. Even stupid scammers have to work at it. Anyone who says otherwise is a liar trying to get your money.
Yes i agree 100% awesome customer service is a must. There is no point in trying to scam people with crap becuase you will get crap reviews therefor no one will ever perchase from you again.
I wasn't implying it was easy as such but it seems one of the easiest ways to make money online as there are 1000s of targeted people in the market that you would be selling your products/services.
