How do you shorten affiliate URL?

    which one do you think is better in terms of click ratio for your affiliate links?
    1, use bit.ly or other url shorten service, such as bit.ly/haha;
    2, use your own site url and forward to your affiliate link, for example your site is hehe.com, create a sub-domain as haha.hehe.com and forward it.

    thanks.

    I've been tweeting some of my affiliate links and I tend towards the goo.gl shortener for its simplicity and ease.

    I think the best way is to do a 301 redirect in .htacess so it doesn't look like an aff link and you can edit the link in one location.

    If I'm using Twitter as a way to gain leads then I tend to use bit.ly and j.mp. If I'm shortening my links for use on things such as forums or any other venue where there are no character counts to worry about then I mainly use my own domain to shorten/mask them (i.e. abc.com/affiliate-offer).

    I use bit.ly. It's commonly known so most people are willing to click them.

    I just forward my domains or use a subdomain. bit.ly looks spammy imo.

    why don't you cloak your links so they will look nicer and people are not scared clicking them? There are many plugins out there that can do that or you can do it manually as well.

    Most people would use twitter to market their links and shortening the url would be pretty crucial. You can try our url shortener here: http://infe.st/s/

    If you are using wordpress blog then there have some plugin to shorten the url, use one of those. If you like to use an individual shorten service bit.ly is best.

    I use bit.ly for twitter but in my sites I use WP Plugin GoCodes. Some people may still recognize the go code as an affiliate link, but most of our visitors won't. It would be thedomain.com/go/triggerword.

    I am using Tiny Url site for twitting in twitter. Tiny Url site proves to be very helpful in making url short and useful.
