How Do People SEO Sites like Dell and Microsoft?

Like the title suggests, how exactly do you think SEO teams rank for sites for big companies such as Dell and Microsoft? I assume they cant possibly write articles and press releases all day to rank. Except for the natural high quality backlinks that they will occasionally get, what other methods do you think SEO teams use?

Also, for SEO companies like SEOMoz and others, what techniques do you guys think they use except for basic on-site analysis and competitor and keyword analysis?

 

I don't really think Microsoft.com needs any SEO at all. They get tons of quality backlinks from all over the world.
Furthermore I think Google has some sort of list with domains that rank for pretty much anything they put in their title

 

FYI, DELL and other Fortune 100 companies have their own large team of Online Marketers, who do a part of seo per team.

SEO is done but not that much...

I think they do not do seo for their own, other people do it for them I mean they get back link automatically from many website for that they no nbeed to do seo for their own

 

with the links they get.. SEO is natural for their sites..

 

Sites like Microsoft and Dell attract thousands of natural inbound links to their sites which is really all they need... this proves the power of backlinks!

For example, if you search google for: Click Here you will see that www. adobe.com have the top 2 positions and yet the words click here are nowhere to be found on their site... this not only proves the power of backlinks, it also proves the power of anchor text

However, for lower to mid sized companies, how do you think they SEO? They won't be widely recognized enough to naturally gain backlinks on a daily or weekly basis.

 

Yes and all those big online marketers teams are writing/spinning and submitting articles all day long LOLOLOL

they don't need to do a thing, they will rank on the top, no matter what you do

 

Every company need good marketing for popularity, Without marketing we can not get exact result.

 

Their regular marketing causes all the blogs & sites to post about them, that's more than enough SEO... but expensive for smaller companies!!! It's the playground of the rich but it works, look at them rank!

MS is famous. Google has an authoritative source list. Pages that talk about MS are ranked below MS' official page. Just like a celebrity's official page it will rank about the fan pages. Knowledge base, drivers, etc, things that people download, blogs, networks talking about them. They do advertise both on the internet and in the print medium.

 

I'm sure that they do some people within the company working on SEO, although having such high authotiy domain names, they rank for pretty much everything right away, plus they're are 1000's of new links built to their websites, well every single day, so they've probably never had to build backlinks to their site.

 

Yup, something like facebook, youtube and twitter.

They do not do SEO, their users do that for them automatically. They just build the site and the user interface, thats it.

 

A lot of people aren't reading the thread, they just read the first para of your first post then comment right away.. lol
