What Content Management System shall I chose?

    Hi,

I want to run a personal development website with a collection of articles, links, book reviews and links to other websites.

I want advice on what Content Management System to chose, based on:
    1- php/MySQL 5.0
2- Nice user friendly interface for visitors and lots of free templates to chose from
3- Possible to add other plugins like a shopping cart for example (but not now)
4- Easy to install and configure
5- Can add my custom graphics

Any help/advice would be appreciated. I am hosting with godaddy.com so I would be even more appreciative if you have done something on godaddy.

    Cheers,
    Mohammad

My choice (as always) would be WordPress, tons of plugins (including shopping carts), famous 5 minute install, good enough user interface and, free and premium themes to choose from.

WORDPRESS will do fine, coz its just for personal use..

If u want to do a lot of customization Get the THESIS framework for wordpress.

There are also lot of "minimalistic WP templates" which are available for free. WP has lot of plugins.

    extend[dot]wordpress[dot]org

Learn creating themes for WP, that will do justice.

Another vote for wordpress. Ive used joomla, drupal, noahs, phpnuke, and some smaller ones, but wordpress has always outshined with templates, plugins, and support.

Like others, my vote also goes to WordPress, almost every think-able plugins are available out there.

Definitely save so much times for both corporate and personal use :).

    Hi

Add another vote for Wordpress. But I have to admit Joomla and Virtuemart are great if you want a e-store.

    Hi,
If your are going to try out with E-commerce then it is better to choose Magento and if you are in need to develop
other sites like social networking or attractive design then it is better to choose joomla or drupal

Wordpress will do for your requirements.. But its better to get a feel of Drupal or Joomla if you plan to expand later..

Wordpress does sound like the right solution.

    PHPNuke is another option.
