Directory Meets Wiki: Instant Listings!

Okay, so here it is. We have created a free directory based on wiki software to allow people to add links to their websites instantly. No queues, no wait time. This is an offer to Digital Point forum users only (for now), because we trust them not to spam the page. In the future, we can call this an experiment in honesty. We also hope you'll help us keep it clean. We are not even asking for a reciprocal link back (but is it appreciated to get the word out). Why are we doing this? We just understand how hard it can be to get the word out about your website and we want to provide the opportunity for you to do it easily and freely. Kind of good karma one webmaster to another

Most of the spammers come here to find the directories to spam to. Good Luck with that.

 

I know at first I had the same fear. But then wikipedia makes it work—so it must be possible. Guess I am an optimist and naive that webmasters will be kind to one another. I guess we'll see. Please come by and add your sites. It would be appreciated :0)

well if add crap to wikipedia it will be edited or removed. BTW Mike thanks for all your additions. I will be moving your links to a newly created directory catergory

LOL I have added only one, but a category called directories might not be a bad idea

 

I'm just wondering, what category would a myspace resource site be listed under.
I am constantly debating this when submitting my site places.

what kind of ressource? "a how" to site? If you don't find a category you like, please suggest one...

 

Its a site with glitter graphics, cursors, codes, backgrounds, etc. the typical myspace resource site.

As long as the site isnt popular you shouldnt have any probs, once it gets popular, sadly, youll get jealous people trying to mess up your site. GL!

Interesting enough idea i guess, shouldnt people be able to add categories themselves? Seems like that would be one of the big differences from a normal directory..

This solves the "delete a spam link, get respammed" problem

 

i'd love to do this, but the issue is that if we unprotected that page, the whole directory could be hijacked...and besides most sites fall into the categories created. if you see any missing let me know
