Twitter and Linkedin are both good ways to reach new potential visitors, but I believe Twitter to be the best out of the two because it has become so main stream and more people use it. You have a wider audience to attract with Twitter. This does not mean you should pick one or the other. I use both because I get good feedback from both.

Depends on your business. I'd be amazed if Twitter was actually better than Linkedin in the majority though.

Linkedin is very powerful for harvesting real networking opportunities and connecting with local leads. The directory is great for finding people within the state too in the same industry. Connect with people through groups and your twitter stream, web sites, and profile metrics are all very helpful too.

Well if your website is targetting some niche customer like some professionals in a specific field than linked in will be the best source else twitter will be more useful. Twitter because of its user databse somehow rank high than linkedin

Both have different benefits. I use twitter for traffic and business, Linkedin for data base collection and professional help.

Both are different in their own rights and have their pros and cons, if you're looking for traffic and a way to build your brand awareness Twitter is the way to go.
On the other hand Linked in is a more professional profile, id say something like an Online CV where you can connect with business professionals.
But you can now link them both in, so you really just need to manage one account and both get updated.

This is very easy to figure out. Check out twitter growth. Its more than Linked. Actually they both are different types of site. Linked is for your professional profile and Twitter is a social networking site. You can use both for needs.
